So, who am I?
First things first… I’m terrible at talking about myself, but here we go!
I picked up a camera properly while travelling through Europe in 2015. It was meant to be a “take a few photos and put it away” situation… but it didn’t quite work out like that. I ended up paying attention to things I normally wouldn’t, and it stuck.
Since then, life’s changed a fair bit. A lot of years spent in veterinary nursing, fast-paced days, long hours, and more recently, the beginnings of stepping into a completely new role as a mum. Things have slowed down in a good way, and I’ve found myself coming back to the things I enjoy.
Photography is one of those.
For me, it’s not about creating something overly styled or perfect. It’s more about noticing what’s already there and capturing it in a way that feels honest, something you can come back to later and recognise, not just see.
A Few Facts About Me
• I’ve been a veterinary nurse for over a decade, which means I’m pretty unbothered by chaos and unlikely to panic if things don’t go exactly to plan
• I live in Dayboro and these days I’m quite happy keeping life small. Less rushing around, more staying local, and not mad about it
• I’ve recently begun my transition into motherhood, which is equal parts beautiful and mildly terrifying… but it’s also what’s brought me back to photography
• I like working with my hands. Give me something to build, fix or figure out and I’ll usually have a crack at it
• I’m naturally pretty introverted, so if the idea of being in front of a camera makes you feel awkward, I get it (deeply)
So whats my style?
Short answer? Nothing over the top.
I’m not here to turn your session into a big production or have you doing things that feel forced just for the sake of a photo. No “stand here, look at each other and laugh on cue” energy.
I like things to feel relaxed and a bit unstructured. I’ll guide you where you need it, but mostly I’m paying attention and working with what’s already there.
If that looks like getting out somewhere nice, great.
If it’s staying home, slow morning, coffee on the couch, even better.
You don’t need to be adventurous or have some big idea planned. You just need to show up as you are!
